We're on the way up!!!

At last RockinNRetro is catching on!! It has been a long slow process but we are getting up to 100 hits a day with over 7500 page views last month! Over 70% or our traffic now comes from the search engines so that is fabulous news! Of course, we continue to advertise in the UK Rock n Roll Magazine every month and they pick out a selection of ads to feature in the magazine, so you could well be getting your ad seen by the thousands of folk who read that as well :-) We also distribute our flyers all over the UK at major gigs, car shows, all-dayers and weekenders.

Most of the visitors to our site are from the UK, Europe, North America and Australia, so it really is a GLOBAL site!!!!

We syndicate all our ads to your local free ads sites e.g. oodle, so anyone searching on those sites can click on the ad, then that customer is driven through to RockinNRetro to make their enquiry directly with you.

Our regular members have had good success so far, but we are now driving this site through to the next level and hope to quadruple our visitor and ad numbers by the end of this year! That is where you come in :-) Please register, get your ads listed and spread the word to everyone who would be interested, via facebook, twitter or any other means that are legal :-)

It is only £10 a year for up to 50 ads, with no commission to pay...ever!! If you have your own business, you can list an item under each relevant category, add example photos and your URL so that folk can click through straight to your site. We can even carry banner ads for you :-)

Hey Everyone!

2011 will be the year for RockinNRetro.com!!

I have been working hard to get more traffic to our site and to get us higher up the search engine rankings. We also now feed our ads to other classified ads sites, so your ad does not just appear on RockinNRetro.com. However, if anyone wants to make an enquiry, they are driven back to our site, so people are only able to see the information that you have put on about yourself. It really is 'our' site too. We are all responsible for the success of RockinNRetro.com and I hope that you will continue to register as members and get your listings on here! We do not charge commission, so once folk realise how easy it is to use our site and how cheap it is, we will definitely be rockin' and a rollin'! Please help us by continuing to spread the word and many thanks for reading this and your support.

Hey Everybody! Just a quicky as it's the weekend! Ooh errr Missus!

When listing an item, try to steer clear of putting 1950's, vintage or retro as the lead word in your title. Try to be more specific and target the exact item that you are selling first. You can still ad other words afterwards, but this will enable your ad to be seen more prominently by the search engines, such as google, yahoo etc.

For example - instead of listing an item as 1950's Homemaker Ridgway tea plate, list it as Homemaker Ridgway tea plate from the 1950's.

There are millions of searches each month for the 1950's but only thousands for Homemaker. Therefore, your ad will actually be seen by the people who are wanting to buy what you are selling!

Everly Brothers special limited edition 4 lp box set

As you can see from the banner on our home page, we have a rather special box set just about to come onto the market! 180gram records have quality and authenticity at the heart of their operation. Full details are on their advert under music - 50's vinyl and on their website. This is what the Country Music Hall Of Fame had to say about it all:

Country Music Hall of Fame Requests Everly Brothers Box Set for Permanent Archives

Established in 1961, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum honors and preserves lasting contributions to country music. As part of this continuing commitment, the organization has requested two limited edition box sets featuring the music of the Everly Brothers, which will be permanently housed in their archives. These box sets have been produced by 180 Gram Records in partnership with Cadence Records, the Everly Brothers' original record label in the late 1950s. Each box set, part of a strictly limited run of 5,000 sets available to the public, contains four LPs on 180g vinyl.

The Everly Brothers are comprised of two real-life brothers, Don and Phil. Combining rock and roll rhythms with classic country, they scored a series of hit singles in the late 1950s, and went on to become one of the most successful duos in music history in terms of top singles and album sales. They recorded 35 Billboard Top 100 singles and 26 singles that reached the Billboard Top 40. The Everly Brothers have influenced many subsequent musical artists, including the Eagles, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and the Bee Gees. Their influence and enduring appeal were acknowledged with a 1986 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997, and induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. The July 2010 archiving of the Everly Brothers 4-LP box set with the Country Music Hall of Fame represents one further step in safeguarding the legacy of the Everly Brothers for future generations.

The Everly Brothers' trademark steel-string guitar playing and close vocal harmonies are evident in some of their most well-known hits, including “Wake Up Little Susie,” “Bye Bye Love,” and “All I Have to Do Is Dream,” all of which are featured in the box set. These hits and more were produced between 1957 and 1960, a time when the brothers were signed to Cadence Records. Original material from the Cadence Records vault was rediscovered, remastered, and pressed on to 180g virgin vinyl for a 4-LP set. Songs are presented in the original running order on each LP, and the LPs themselves are stored in a custom-designed presentation box. Each limited edition box set comes packaged with reproductions of original album artwork, as well as a 14 x 22 inch recreation of a Cadence Records promotional poster from the era.

Box sets come with certificates of authenticity, and are individually numbered. The collection is registered with the Limited Edition Registry of the United States, as well as the Library of Congress. Hi Guys! I'm new to this blogging but thought it would be a great way to keep you all up to speed with what's happening at RockinNRetro.com.

We have got some great vintage and retro clothes on the site now, as well as cars and collectables from the 40's, 50's and early 60's. Please check them out and let me know what you think I hope to be getting some guest bloggers along to keep you entertained so watch this space!

Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for RockinNRetro. There are already lots of categories on there, but can add anything you like, as long as it is relevant. Don't forget, if there is something that you are looking for, put it in the wanted section - chances are t hat someone will have just the job!
